General Summary

The Business Development Specialist is responsible for finding and developing new business, qualifying candidates, developing opportunities and “project managing” the opportunity to completion. The BDS will also be tasked to coordinate with all regional teams to best support the business. The BDS will work at the direction of the Sales Director and be responsible for executing all sales initiatives, objectives, and strategies. Involvement within local and/or regional industry associations and events will be encouraged to broaden the Finishers Depot brand and market presence. 

This role requires excellence in Business Development, project management, teamwork and sales execution. 

 Responsibilities

      • Executing the sales process with winning account acquisition strategies that meet or exceed gross profit targets and expense controls. 
      • Seek and develop candidates to create new business opportunities for the company and effectively manage each opportunity as a unique project to ensure it is WON. 

      • Responsible for CRM utilization including account and opportunity management within the tool in conjunction with the Business Development teams. 

      • Coordination with the Sales Director to determine and execute sales priorities 

      • Ensure the FD sales process is followed to ensure consistency and drive success. 

      • Tracking performance against Monthly/Quarterly/Annual goals and objectives 

      • Utilize and maximize the CRM tool to drive success 

      • Coordinate with all support teams including Technical, Customer Service, Production, etc. 

      • Coordinating with the Sales Director and Marketing on lead generation and targeted campaigns 

      • Promoting the organization's message, brand, and products 

      • Understand our ideal client/customer and how they relate to our products 

      • Participate in the ongoing development of the FD sales processes for continued success 

 Job Specifications

    • 5+ years of Sales/Business Development Experience Required 

    • Excellence in Client/Customer Relationship Management 

    • Working knowledge of the wood industry preferred 

    • Must be comfortable developing and leading presentations as well as public speaking 

    • Experience in developing and executing sales strategies 

    • Experience with and proficient in CRM utilization 

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 

    • Commitment to a team selling environment 

    Working Conditions

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration; constant exposure to moving mechanical parts and work in high, risky conditions is common. There is exposure to outdoor weather conditions, such as extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
