An excellent product for the newest trend in decorating, crackle finishes. This product enables the finisher to produce an excellent "antique" look for both new and old wood products. Our Premium Precatalyzed Lacquer are recommended for protection and durability over light colored Crackle finishes. Crackle Lacquers are supplied as tinting bases and no reduction is necessary, product is ready to use. For tinting, use only colorants formulated for use in lacquers. Use no more than 6 ounces per gallon of universal colorant. Crackle lacquer requires a smooth prefinished surface to work correctly. Do not apply to raw or poorly finished surfaces. After applying your base coats of stain or pigmented lacquers we recommend multiple coats of Vinyl Sanding Sealer or other appropriate lacquer finish to seal and separate the crackle from the base coat or base wood. Crackle should normally be applied within 1hour of final seal coat before applying Crackle Lacquer. The clear coat should be dry but not over cured.DO NOT SAND THE FINAL COATS BEFORE APPLYING CRACKLE LACQUER! Sanding the final coat will create uneven, inconsistent cracks. After properly sealing the substrate, or the base coats, spray the tinted Crackle Lacquer next. After spraying crackle you must apply a clear coat for adhesion.
